From a selfie video taken during COVID infection in March of 2020, only a year later I found out that the microphone was broken back then. Left with 20 minute video of me aimlessly saying something without any sound, I attempted dubbing the video obsessively, bound to fail, then the attempt seemed to resemble the longing to go back to pre-pandemic era, maybe when I was healthier and free from long covid. But was I healthy back then even? What is this sense of normality that always coincide with the sense of absence? The sentence ‘We can’t go back.’ fools us with a notion that there is a place to go back. But where is that place?
